Good morning, everyone.
Hope all is going well on your side of the world.
So recent reactions to PED have been questions on who we really are and what we're really about.
We are Pangea Educational Development [PED]. We are a non-profit formed to enable schools from around the world access to resources. With this, we hope to permeate sustainable education. We are dedicated to empowering students, staff, and communities by providing essential resources to schools and creating self-sustainable programs that ensure the well being of students around the world.
The reason why we named ourselves Pangea Educational Development is because of the strong imagery. A long, long, long time ago, Pangea was a super continent. And with this driving symbol, we feel it captures much of the aspects of education we believe in: education is the most powerful tool in unifying and empowering individuals. It all starts with education, right?
We also believe that genuine relationships with our constituents is one of the most important aspects of our organization. We don't just create these programs to enable sustainable education out of passion for institutions. We create these programs to open doors of opportunity for students. We do it out of passion for the kids; for the students; for the people. In places like Uganda, education is such a key component for opportunity. Education is a human right. There's something wrong when there are schools that are closing due to lack of sustainability.
You know, there's a difference between charity and justice. Charity is giving someone something that belongs to you, and justice is giving someone something that belongs to them. Education belongs to everyone, and this is what we're fighting for. We're here to help institutions become the focal point in people's lives and communities.
That's what we believe in. And this is what we stand for.
We are PED.
"Education is an ornament in prosperity, and a refuge in adversity."
Aristotle
